Plotinus – God, Spirit and Myth

The book consists of lectures given by French philosopher Henri Bergson on Plotinus. The work is an introduction to the life and philosophy of the ancient philosopher Plotinus. Plotinus' soul theory, the transition from the universal to the individual soul, idea, myth and the understanding of God (One) are among the topics discussed in the work.
MS. Plotinus, born in 209, belonged to a Roman family that settled in Egypt. He arrived in Alexandria in an age of intellectual eclecticism and vague moralism. In the face of many philosophical schools and new schools coming from the East, he established a philosophical system centered on the philosophy of Aristotle and his master Plato.
The work is important in terms of exploring the world of thought not only of Plotinus, the founder of Neoplatonism, but also of Bergson.
